Technology Development Support
Critical Project Support: Perform comprehensive assessment of critical or troublesome projects including technical review, estimated cost and schedule to complete, staffing and resource deficiencies, and specification review. Work with staff to develop a recovery/risk mitigation plan, and support execution of the plan and reporting to Senior Management.
Technology and Product Roadmap Plan Development: Review in-house technology and work with staff to develop a comprehensive plan of improvements, develop a staged plan of product releases and map engineering and other resources required.
Procurement and Supply Chain Outsourcing Support: We work with our customers to help in the planning and execution of outsourcing critical technology or services. We support full life cycle procurement, from working with client to develop requirements, drafting RFIs and RFPs, running the competitive bidding process in accordance with clients polices, evaluating responses, and supporting the negotiation of contracts and agreements. We can work closely as an integrated team, or independently as our clients may desire. Harbor Cay understands the often delicate tradeoffs between stringent technical requirements and practical implementation and market constraints.
Intellectual Property Development and Protection Program: Review current intellectual Property in terms of patents, trademarks, and copyrights. Take inventory of existing technology and assess protections status and develop a patent strategy. Work with technology and legal staff to identify inventions and prepare provisional or utility patents. Review key competitor patent portfolio and trends, develop a defensive long term plan to protect key assets, and an offensive plan to enforce infringement and secure revenue streams through market protection and licensing programs.
Product Cost Reduction: Perform detailed analysis of product cost structure and identify cost reduction opportunities. Rank opportunities and perform a cost-benefit analysis for each major area. Develop a cost reduction plan which addresses engineering redesign, purchasing processes, off-shore manufacturer selection, documentation systems, and product quality improvement/warranty cost reduction.
